Admission

Target Group

Participants are selected from among outstanding graduate students majoring in International Relations (IR) or political science who originate from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. In 2009, the Global Politics Summer School is also inviting students from Germany to apply for the summer school program and the Siemens internship program.

Applicants should be postgraduate, hold a first academic degree (B.A. or equivalent) and be fluent in English.  A competitive selection process ensures a high quality academic atmosphere, with a total of 35 program participants. In addition to an outstanding academic record and strong analytical skills, candidates should possess a strong interest in an internationally oriented career. Students will be selected jointly by Freie Universität Berlin and Fudan University Shanghai.

Application procedure

Applicants should provide the following:
  • statement of purpose outlining the relevance of participation in the summer school for the student's academic development and career
  • transcripts of former academic achievements
  • other relevant documents e.g. language diploma
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
