Ulrich Brückner studied Political Science, German Literature and History at the University of Würzburg and Freie Universität Berlin. Since 1987 he has specialized in European Integration. From 1992 to 2002, Uli Brückner worked at the FU Berlin as a lecturer and later as the Jean Monnet chair, an EU program for teaching activities in the field of European Integration. From 1997 to 2003, he worked as a Jean Monnet visiting professor at Szczecin University in Poland. Since 1999 Uli Brückner has taught as a visiting professor in the USA, China, Russia, Turkey, Slovenia and Slovakia. In 2003, he became EU Jean Monnet Professor at Stanford and works in California and in the Berlin. He is also affiliated with various American programs, the European Commission, the Federal Foreign Office and NGOs. His current fields of interest include institutional developments in the EU, external affairs and eastward enlargement.
